Privacy policy

Privacy comes standard.

Volume Boost is intentionally private: no trackers, no accounts, and no external services. All preferences live inside your browser.

Last updated July 15, 2025

We review this policy regularly and publish every change here.

What Volume Boost stores

  • Preferred amplification level (0-6400%)
  • Optional debug mode toggle (if you enable it)
  • No personal information or browsing history

What never leaves your device

  • Audio streams processed for boosting
  • Usage analytics, telemetry, or behavior data
  • Cookies, trackers, or monetization scripts

Our privacy promise

  • Local storage only
  • No third-party integrations
  • Transparent, minimal permissions

Information we collect

Volume Boost stores a single configuration object inside Chrome local storage. This includes your preferred boost level and your optional debug preference. Nothing else is captured, transmitted, or synced.

Local data storage

All settings remain inside your browser. Clearing browser data or uninstalling the extension removes them permanently.

Audio access

The extension temporarily accesses live audio streams to apply amplification. Audio is processed in real time and never saved.

How we use information

  • Functionality: Remember your gain level between sessions.
  • User experience: Restore last-used settings for consistent sound.
  • Debugging: If you enable debug mode, logs stay local to troubleshoot issues.

Data storage & security

The extension relies on Chrome’s secure storage API and does not communicate with external servers. There are no analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or cloud databases embedded in the codebase.

  • Local-only data storage with sandboxed access.
  • Minimal attack surface thanks to a lightweight architecture.
  • No network transmission, so there is nothing to intercept.
