Most issues can be solved with a quick refresh or configuration check. Start here.
1. Installation issues
Make sure you are using Google Chrome or another Chromium-based browser on a desktop computer. Extensions cannot be installed from mobile devices.
2. Boost not working
Refresh the tab you want to amplify, ensure Volume Boost is enabled, and move the slider to increase gain. Some sites require playback to start before boosting.
3. Audio quality
Start with modest boost levels and increase gradually. Extremely high gain can cause distortion depending on the original mix.
4. Browser compatibility
Volume Boost is built for Chrome and Chromium browsers (Arc, Edge, Brave, etc.). It may not function in Firefox or Safari.
